San Juan National Forest Filling Temporary Fire Positions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: San Juan National Forest filling temporary fire positions



DURANGO, Colorado – November 3, 2017 – The San Juan National Forest is filling temporary fire positions for the 2018 season. Several fire positions are available, not to exceed six months, on engine, helitack, hand and hotshot crews; fire-use modules; as fire lookouts; and at the Durango Air Tanker Base and Durango Interagency Dispatch Center.

Positions will be located in Dolores, Bayfield, Durango, and Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Applicants must apply to the specific vacancy announcements that will be posted on http://www.usajobs.gov/. Job Announcements will open on December 15, 2017and close on December 21, 2017. Applications must be posted in USAJOBS no later than midnight, December 21, 2017, to be considered.  Applicants are encouraged to update their profiles and resumes within USAJOBS every 60 days to ensure their application remains active. Candidates should also be aware that they may also be considered for positions within the commuting area of the duty locations they have selected.
