Montezuma County has eliminated support for the FireWise Neighborhood Ambassador Program which provides wildfire education and technical support to help residents prepare for wildfires.

To address this shortfall, FireWise of Southwest Colorado is hosting LIVING WITH WILDFIRE a resource and educational fair and fundraiser. The event will include educational booths, demonstrations, live bands (dancing), and live and silent auctions.

This will be an event for the history books!

• Living with Wildfire Resource Fair with the Colorado State Forest Service, Smokey Bear, wildfire professionals, educational booths, demonstrations, and kids’ activities.

Live auction with Larry Don Suckla. Items will include a chainsaw, days of flammable vegetation removal service, and other wildfire preparedness tools and resources. Meet contractors and bid on their services.(Payment method is cash or check only).

• Live dance music will be provided by Little Brother, Carute Roma, and the Afrobeatniks.

• The Mancos Brewery has created a special Underwood Lager for this event and a dollar from each pint will go to help support FireWise education programs in Montezuma County.

We will update this event as details become available.
